Our field of membership includes those who live, work, worship, or attend school in the State of Michigan and in the Ohio counties of Fulton, Lucas, or Wood.
Please note: You can also become a member of MCCU if you are an immediate relation to a current member or live in the same household as a current member.
A huge part of our credit union’s mission is to support and give back to our local community. We do this through a combination of the products and services we provide to our membership, sponsorships, our credit union team members volunteering their time, and supporting the efforts of local non-profit organizations. The last few years have shown it’s more important than ever to be engaged and supportive of our local agencies and we’re very excited to roll out a brand-new program designed specifically for that purpose: Member Match! For every new membership opened at Monroe Community Credit Union in 2022 we will match the initial $5 deposit required to join our cooperative and donate $5 on behalf of our new member.

FAQ - Opening an MCCU Savings Account Online
Can I open a joint account through online account opening?
At this time online account opening is for single memberships only. However, once your account is open a joint can be added. Ask a MCCU representative for more information on how to add a joint.
Can business, minor or payee accounts be opened online?
No, online account opening is intended for personal, individual memberships only.
If I cannot upload my ID can I bring it in later?
Yes! Uploading an ID image is not a requirement to complete the online account opening process. However, we will need to obtain acceptable photo ID before any transactions can be conducted.
Do I have to use a debit/credit card to fund my new account?
There are multiple options for funding your new account. If you are unable or choose not to fund your account with your debit/credit card, new members can choose to bring in cash for your first deposit.
Can I open a checking account online?
Online account opening can only be used for savings accounts at this time. Once you’re logged into online banking there are multiple options for other sub-accounts that can be opened. Please contact us for more information on opening a checking account with us!
When do I get my ATM/Debit card?
If you elect to open your membership online, an ATM/Debit card can be ordered as soon as 30 days after opening your new MCCU account.
