Community Involvement
Here at Monroe Community Credit Union, we understand the importance of supporting our community and local organizations! We do this through a combination of charitable donations, volunteering at community events, and participating on volunteer committees and boards. As a credit union dedicated to supporting our current and potential membership, the focus of our charitable efforts are directed toward enhancing the lives of those who live in the communities we serve.
Volunteer Program
The IMPACT Program, short for Involvement in Meaningful Projects and Community Transformation, is the volunteer initiative at MCCU (Monroe County Credit Union). It is designed to foster teamwork and collaboration among employees as we collectively strive to ignite positive change within our community.
Since the inception of MCCU’s volunteer programs, MCCU employees have dedicated thousands of hours towards various events, leaving behind cherished memories and a positive and meaningful impact on the people in our community. These events have encompassed a diverse range, from charity walks to trade shows and Quartermanias. Volunteerism lies at the heart of MCCU's mission to enhance the quality of life in Monroe County, and IMPACT plays a pivotal role in our credit union's commitment to the community.
The IMPACT Program is more than just a volunteer effort—it's an embodiment of credit union’s belief in "people helping people." Through this program, we aim to leave a lasting, positive imprint on the communities we serve.
Scholarship Program
Our 2025 scholarship winners have been selected. We appreciate every application we received and look forward to offering this opportunity again next year!
While we do make updates to our scholarship program, the requirements for our 2025 scholarship were as follows:
- Must be a member of Monroe Community Credit Union with accounts in good standing
- Must be a high school senior or adult currently pursuing higher education through college or trade school
- Must be accepted or currently enrolled in a college/university/trade program
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Credit Union employees, Board Members, and family members of the Executive Management Team/Board of Directors are not eligible to apply.
- Essay Requirement: (500 words or less): Explain how your unique skills and experiences have prepared you to make a positive impact on your community.

Our Community Outreach
We are always looking for new ways to support our community, however because we have been a staple in Monroe County since 1953 there are a number of organizations we work with on an annual basis! In 2024, employees of your credit union donated over 2,709 hours of their time to volunteer in our community.
